  7. 1/2 Cup Nuts (optional)

  1. In a large pot, heat 1/4 cup desi ghee, add cardamom powder then carrots and mix in.
  2. Allow the carrots to cook till it's water dries. Then add milk bring to an almost-boil then reduce the heat to medium.
  3. Continue to cook, uncovered untill the milk evaporates completely.
  4. Once most of the moisture has evaporated add ghee, khoya & sugar. Continue to cook on medium heat, stir occasionally. When halwa going to change colour and ghee separate at the sides. This is what I want.
  5. Turn off the heat and mix half nuts, and half garnish on the top and with khoya as well. It's ready serve hot and enjoy the winter.
