- 500 grams lauki
- 1 cup milk
- 50 grams khoya
- 1/3-1/2 cup sugar or as per taste
- 1/2 teaspoon elaichi powder

- 5-6 pistachios sliced
- 2-3 tablespoon ghee
- 2 pinch green colour(optional)
Steps to make to make Lauki ka halwa
- Take a kadhai add ghee,heat well, then add almonds, pistachios, cashewnuts and raisins. Roast it and stir continuously till it changes its color.Switch off the heat and Keep aside mixed nuts
- Wash and rinse well lauki.Peel the skin of lauki.Cut the lauki into 2 or 3 parts,so that it becomes easier to grate.Now grate the lauki.Dont grate seed part of lauki.
- In the same kadhai, as there is already ghee in it,heat it well, then add grated lauki. Roast it for 6 to 8 minutes on medium heat. Stir continuously.
- Now add milk.stir and mix. Let it cook on medium to high heat.
- Milk will start reducing and absorb. Once 75 to 80 percent of milk is absorbed add sugar.Mix it nicely.
- Then add khoya in the kadhai. Mix it well and keep on stirring continuously.
- Then add elaichi powder and mix well.
- Cook till the khoya and milk is completely absorbed mixed well with lauki
- Now add green colour in halwa and mix it well. This part is optional. I have added colour to enhance the colour of halwa.
- Add roasted mixed nuts(almonds, raisins, cashewnuts, pistachios).Keep few for garnishing while serving.
- Adjust sugar according to taste.
